Anna Mcguire was born Nov 30, 1804 in the state of North Carolina, died Sept 25, 1897, aged 92 years 9 months 25 days. She was united in marriage to Stephen BROWN July 12, 1825. To this union were born two children before leaving her native state and ten since removing to this state.  When they came to Indiana they located at Danville for a short time then removed to the farm where they resided until the death of the husband and father.  Three of the childre preceded the father to the spirit land, two of them giving their lives in the CIvil War.  One has since died, leaving 8 to mourn the loss of mother. There are 47 grandchildren all of whom are living except six.  Brother and Sister Brown  united with the ME Church in the year 1846, removing their membership to the MP Church at the organization of Canaan Society where they remained until death called them from labor to reward.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mary E. Ayres at Canaan Church.  A large and sympathizing audice gave attention to the discourse delivered from the text, Rev. xiii; 13.  Interment at Canaan Cemetery ... Groveland, Ind.   --- kbz
